4 Omurice Recipes

Omurice or Omuraise is very popular rice dish from Asia that is made of basically fried rice covered in egg wrap. The egg was cooked flat like crepe and covering the fried rice inside it. Omurice was first made in Japan, then it has its own way to South Korea and now to the world. Today we made 4 types of Omurice with different trype of fried rice inside it. They are the Original Japanese Omurice, Chinese style Omurice with sweet sausage and chivesm Korean Omurice with Demi Glace sauce and Korean Spicy Omurice.

JAPANESE OMURICE

Ingredients:

  • 1 sausage (chopped onto small chunks).
  • 1 tsp of chopped garlic.
  • 3 tbs of chopped carrots.
  • 1 tbs of chopped green onions.
  • 2 cups of cooked rice.
  • 2 tbs of oil.
  • 3 tbs of Tomato Ketchup.
  • Salt and Pepper.
  • 3 eggs.
  • 2 tbs double cream.
  • Fresh salad.

Steps:

  • Heat pan on high, pour in oil, stir fry garlics and green onions until fragrant.
  • Put in carrots and mix well for 2 minutes.
  • Put in sausage and mix well.
  • Put in rice and mix well for 1 min.
  • Put in tomato ketchup and mix well.
  • Seasoned with salt and pepper following preferences.
  • Mix well for another 2 min and set aside.
  • Beat eggs and cream only until mix well.
  • Heat non stick pan on low medium.
  • Rub with butter (thinly using kitchen towel), if needed.
  • Strain egg using strainer onto the pan.
  • Spread evenly.
  • Cover the pan and turn the heat down onto low.
  • Cook until egg harden bit.
  • Place in half of the fried rice in the middle of egg.
  • Fold the egg covering the rice.
  • Serve Omurice with Tomato Ketchup and Salad.

Bahan:

  • 1 sosis (potong menjadi kotak-kotak kecil).
  • 1 tsp bawang putih cincang.
  • 3 tbs wortel cincang.
  • 1 tbs daun bawang hijau cincang.
  • 400 gr nasi putih.
  • 2 tbs minyak.
  • 3 tbs Saus Tomat botolan.
  • 3 telur.
  • 2 tbs krim cair, diganti susu juga boleh.
  • Salad segar.

Langkah:

  • Panaskan wajan dengan api besar, tuang minyak, tumis bawang putih dan daun bawang hijau hingga harum.
  • Masukkan wortel dan tumis lagi selama 2 menit.
  • Masukkan sosis dan aduk rata.
  • Masukkan nasi dan aduk rata selama 1 menit.
  • Masukkan saus tomat dan aduk rata.
  • Masukkan garam dan merica sesuai selera.
  • Aduk rata lagi selama 2 menit dan sisihkan.
  • Kocok telur dan krim cair hanya hingga tercampur rata, jangan sampai berbusa.
  • Panaskan wajan anti lengket dengan api kecil sedang.
  • Lumuri dengan mentega menggunakan tisu, jika perlu.
  • Saring telur dengan menggunakan saringan kedalam wajan.
  • Ratakan telur ke seluruh bagian wajan.
  • Tutup wajan dan kecilkan api.
  • Masak hingga telur sedikit mengeras.
  • Letakkan separuh porsi nasi goreng ditengah-tengah telur dadar.
  • Lipat telur menjadi amplop membungkus nasi gorengnya.
  • Sajikan Omurice dengan saus tomat botolan dan salad segar.

CHINESE OMURICE

Ingredients:

  • 1 Chinese sweet fermented sausage (Lapcheong) (chopped onto small chunks).
  • 1 tsp of chopped garlic.
  • 3 tbs of chopped carrots.
  • 1 tbs of chopped green onions.
  • 1 tbs of chopped green chives.
  • 2 cups of cooked rice.
  • 2 tbs of oil.
  • 2 tbs of soy sauce.
  • Salt and Pepper.
  • 1 tsp of sesame seed oil.
  • 3 eggs.
  • 2 tbs double cream.
  • Fresh salad.

Steps: 

  • Heat pan on high, pour in oil, stir fry garlics and green onions until fragrant.
  • Put in carrots and mix well for 2 minutes.
  • Put in sausage and mix well.
  • Put in rice and mix well for 1 min.
  • Put in sot sauce and chives, mix well.
  • Put in salt and pepper, following preferences.
  • Put in sesame seed oil.
  • Mix well for 2 min and set aside.
  • Beat eggs and cream only until mix well.
  • Heat non stick pan on low medium.
  • Rub with butter (thinly using kitchen towel), if needed.
  • Strain egg using strainer onto the pan.
  • Spread evenly.
  • Cover the pan and turn the heat down onto low.
  • Cook until egg harden bit.
  • Place in half of the fried rice in the middle of egg.
  • Fold the egg covering the rice.
  • Serve Omurice with Salad.

Bahan:

  • 1 sosis manis (Lapcheong) (potong menjadi kotak-kotak kecil).
  • 1 tsp bawang putih cincang.
  • 3 tbs wortel cincang.
  • 1 tbs daun bawang hijau cincang.
  • 1 tbs kuchai cincang.
  • 400 gr nasi putih.
  • 2 tbs minyak.
  • 2 tbs kecap asin.
  • Garam dan merica.
  • 1 tsp minyak wijen.
  • 3 telur.
  • 2 tbs krim cair, diganti susu juga boleh.
  • Salad segar.

Langkah: 

  • Panaskan wajan dengan api besar, tuang minyak, tumis bawang putih dan daun bawang hijau hingga harum.

  • Kocok telur dan krim cair hanya hingga tercampur rata, jangan sampai berbusa.
  • Panaskan wajan anti lengket dengan api kecil sedang.
  • Lumuri dengan mentega menggunakan tisu, jika perlu.
  • Saring telur dengan menggunakan saringan kedalam wajan.
  • Ratakan telur ke seluruh bagian wajan.
  • Tutup wajan dan kecilkan api.
  • Masak hingga telur sedikit mengeras.
  • Letakkan separuh porsi nasi goreng ditengah-tengah telur dadar.
  • Lipat telur menjadi amplop membungkus nasi gorengnya.
  • Sajikan Omurice dengan salad segar.

KOREAN KIMCHI OMURICE

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cups of chopped kimchi.
  • 1 tsp of chopped garlic.
  • 1 tbs of chopped green onions.
  • 1 cup of cooked rice.
  • 2 tbs of oil.
  • 1 tsp Gochujang paste (Korean red pepper paste).
  • 1 tbs of soy sauce
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 2 tbs of Kimchi juice
  • Salt and Pepper.
  • 1 tsp sesame oil.
  • 3 eggs.
  • 2 tbs double cream.
  • Fresh salad.

Steps: 

  • Heat pan on high, pour in oil, stir fry garlics and green onions until fragrant.
  • Put in Kimchi and stir fry for 1 min.
  • Put in rice and mix well for 1 min.
  • Put in Gochujang paste and mix well.
  • Put in Kimchi juice, soy sauce and sugar. Mix well for another 2 min.
  • Turn off the stove and mix with 1 tsp sesame oil.
  • Mix well for another 2 min and set aside.
  • Beat eggs and cream only until mix well.
  • Heat non stick pan on low medium.
  • Rub with butter (thinly using kitchen towel), if needed.
  • Strain egg using strainer onto the pan.
  • Spread evenly.
  • Cover the pan and turn the heat down onto low.
  • Cook until egg harden bit.
  • Place in half of the fried rice in the middle of egg.
  • Fold the egg covering the rice.
  • Serve Omurice with some Kimchi and Salad.

Bahan:

  • 1/2 cangkir kimchi cincang.
  • 1 tsp bawang putih cincang.
  • 1 tbs daun bawang hijau cincang.
  • 200 gr nasi putih.
  • 2 tbs minyak.
  • 1 tbs pasta Gochujang (Pasta cabe merah besar ala Korea).
  • 1 tbs kecap asin.
  • 1 tsp gula pasir.
  • 2 tbs cairan Kimchi.
  • Garam dan merica.
  • 3 telur.
  • 2 tbs krim cair, diganti susu juga boleh.
  • Salad segar.

Langkah: 

  • Panaskan wajan dengan api besar, tuang minyak, tumis bawang putih dan daun bawang hijau hingga harum.
  • Masukkan Kimchi dan tumis selama 1 menit.
  • Masukkan nasi dan aduk rata selama 1 menit.
  • Masukkan cairan Kimchi, kecap asin dan gula. Aduk rata selama 2 menit.
  • Matikan kompor dan masukkan 1 tsp minyak wijen.
  • Masak selama 2 menit dan sisihkan.
  • Kocok telur dan krim cair hanya hingga tercampur rata, jangan sampai berbusa.
  • Panaskan wajan anti lengket dengan api kecil sedang.
  • Lumuri dengan mentega menggunakan tisu, jika perlu.
  • Saring telur dengan menggunakan saringan kedalam wajan.
  • Ratakan telur ke seluruh bagian wajan.
  • Tutup wajan dan kecilkan api.
  • Masak hingga telur sedikit mengeras.
  • Letakkan separuh porsi nasi goreng ditengah-tengah telur dadar.
  • Lipat telur menjadi amplop membungkus nasi gorengnya.
  • Sajikan Omurice dengan Kimchi segar dan salad.

KOREAN GOCHUJANG OMURICE

Ingredients:

  • 50 gr sliced pork belly.
  • 1 tsp of chopped garlic.
  • 3 tbs of chopped carrots.
  • 1 tbs of chopped green onions.
  • 1 cup of cooked rice.
  • 2 tbs of oil.
  • 1 tbs Gochujang paste (Korean red pepper paste).
  • 1 tbs soy sauce.
  • 1 tsp sugar.
  • 3 eggs.
  • 2 tbs double cream.
  • Demi Glace Sauce (Donkase sauce)
  • Sesame seeds.
  • Fresh salad.

Steps: 

  • Heat pan on hign, put in pork belly.
  • Cook pork belly until golden brown.
  • Scoop out the excessive oil, remain about 2 tbs only.
  • Put in garlics and green onions.
  • Stir fry until fragrant.
  • Put in carrots and cook for 2 min.
  • Put in Gochujang paste and mix well.
  • Put in soy sauce and sugar.
  • Cook for another 2 min and set aside.
  • Beat eggs and cream only until mix well.
  • Heat non stick pan on low medium.
  • Rub with butter (thinly using kitchen towel), if needed.
  • Strain egg using strainer onto the pan.
  • Spread evenly.
  • Cover the pan and turn the heat down onto low.
  • Cook until egg harden bit.
  • Place in half of the fried rice in the middle of egg.
  • Fold the egg covering the rice.
  • Serve Omurice with Demi Glace sauce, sesame seed and Salad.

Bahan:

  • 50 gr samcam (bisa diganti ayam atau sesuai selera).
  • 1 tsp bawang putih cincang.
  • 3 tbs wortel cincang.
  • 1 tbs daun bawang hijau cincang.
  • 200 gr nasi putih.
  • 2 tbs minyak.
  • 1 tbs pasta Gochujang (Pasta cabe merah besar ala Korea).
  • 1 tbs kecap asin.
  • 1 tsp gula pasir.
  • 3 telur.
  • 2 tbs krim cair, diganti susu juga boleh.
  • Saus Demi Glace (Saus Donkase).
  • Biji wijen
  • Salad segar.

Langkah: 

  • Panaskan wajan dengan api besar, masukkan daging babi samcam (Gunakan 2 tbs minyak jika menggunakan ayam).
  • Tumis babi hingga coklat keemasan.
  • Ambil minyak babi yang berlebih dan tinggalkan hanya 2 tbs saja.
  • Masukkan bawang putih dan daun bawang hijau.
  • Tumis hingga harum.
  • Masukkan wortel dan masak selama 2 menit.
  • Masukkan pasta Gochujang dan aduk rata.
  • Masukkan kecap asin dan gula pasir.
  • Masak selama 2 menit dan sisihkan.
  • Kocok telur dan krim cair hanya hingga tercampur rata, jangan sampai berbusa.
  • Panaskan wajan anti lengket dengan api kecil sedang.
  • Lumuri dengan mentega menggunakan tisu, jika perlu.
  • Saring telur dengan menggunakan saringan kedalam wajan.
  • Ratakan telur ke seluruh bagian wajan.
  • Tutup wajan dan kecilkan api.
  • Masak hingga telur sedikit mengeras.
  • Letakkan separuh porsi nasi goreng ditengah-tengah telur dadar.
  • Lipat telur menjadi amplop membungkus nasi gorengnya.
  • Sajikan Omurice dengan saus Demi Glace, biji wijen dan salad segar.
